Parker's Story: Cobb Energy Center ATL, GA Megan Hilty

This story comes from Parker Jennings from Atlanta, Georgia. She met Megan Hilty and Brian Gallagher at a Masterclass at Cobb Energy Center for Performing Arts and then she attended Megan's concert later that night.

At the masterclass, five people sang and Megan gave some general advice and tips on their singing. Her first piece of advice was never apologize. She meant this in the context of after a show. "Megan said, 'Have you ever been to a stage door after a performance that you loved and then the performer starts apologizing and then you don't know how to feel about the performance.'" She also said Be nice. This one is self explanatory. And finally, she emphasized that confidence is REALLY important.

What was Parker's favorite part of the day? "Getting to audition in that amazing theatre and getting to hear advice from Megan and Brian."

Parker has met Megan once before and she is Hiltynator through and through so she tweets Megan all the time. During the masterclass, "I said hi, and she said 'Nice to see you again.'"

Brian was up to his usual shenanigans at the concert. "When Megan was explaining how she never got to be in Little Shop, the audience went 'Aweee.' Then, Brian was like, 'No, she turned out okay.'"

Brian had a total bro moment with an audience member. "Then, when she was talking about her pregnancy, someone in the audience went, 'Go Brian!' And he went, 'I did it!'"

Megan has been talking in interviews about how she records a song at every concert that she plans to use them as lullabies. That probably explains this next story. "Megs gave her phone to one of the guys in the front row so he could film for her and Brian went, 'Don't look through the pictures on there. Just kidding. It's just pictures of our dogs.'"
